Diet Scams & Eating Disorders

Eating disorders come in many shapes and sizes.  I call out an eating disorder with anyone obsessed about food, find the "right diet", or thinking so much about what to eat that it takes time away from enjoying moments in other areas of their life.   They frequently fall for diet scams and rationalize their strict protocol.  These are seemingly smart people, just not very mindful, and that comes from amindfulness practice as well as by feeding the brain the right nutrients.

Here's an interesting list of diet scams that you may have tried and fell victim to in your quest to lose weight.

It amazes me how many people are still falling for these scams.  They claim the diets work, and they do.  You will likely lose weight if you stick with it, but then what?

Have you learned to deal with your stress? Have you improved your relationship with your body?  Are you mindful of the nutrients your body needs to sustain vibrant health, mental clarity, and prevent disease?

Deal with those issues first, and the weight comes and stays off.  There are no shortcuts when it comes to your intelligent body.  Stop and listen and it will tell you everything you need to know.
